This position is responsible for process improvements, project management and the environmental and safety compliance at a chemical blending facility. Specific job duties may include:

• Ensure air, water and waste regulatory compliance and maintain environmental records and reports
• Perform or manage industrial hygiene monitoring
• Implement safety programs and perform or oversee routine safety inspections
• Implement EH&S policies of Ashland, Inc
• Develop and maintain safe work procedures
• Train employees on safe work procedures
• Coordinate emergency response training exercises
• Work with local and company inspectors to demonstrate compliance to laws and regulations
• Institute ergonomic or environmental controls to address process issues
• Assist with product registration and labeling
• Ensure consistent quality control testing
• Investigate quality and process problems
• Implement process changes to increase equipment utilization and resolve quality issues
• Assist with the development of preventative maintenance schedules and activities
• Manage small capital projects
• Manage contractors performing maintenance or capital project work

• The EHS Engineer reports to the Manager of the China Management Service Center
• No employees report directly to the EHS Engineer
• The EHS Engineer will be based in Ashland’s Kunshan facility

EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• English reading, speaking and writing required.
• Engineering or EHS degree required.
• Manufacturing experience helpful
• Computer proficiency required
• More than 3 years working experience in the related field
